Has your life gotten better as an athiest/agnostic?

this quote got me thinking:if you pray sincerely and admit you are a sinner and accept christ as your savior you can have the holy spirit come into your life.. .

i used to do this everyday.

when i was being abused, i used to pray incessantly for god to help me.

How would a JW respond to this question?

before i met my first jw after going off to college, i came from a town of about 3,000 people.

the town is primarily various protestant denominations, catholic, and mormon, but certainly no jws.

as a matter of fact, i hung out with people who had friends of varying religions and denominations, but i never heard anything about a jw.

Why I think the jw's are a cult and not a religion

fortunately, it is not the case with me but this deal about parents not talking to their children who have been disfellowshipped is horrid.

it is bad enough for those who have been disfellowshipped, but to have their own family turn on them?

as such, i think the jw's are a cult as they separate families.

JWs have no power of reasoning

one thing that amazes me all the time is how jws have no power of reasoning!

i think back at how i used to reason doubts through as a jw and i could kick myself.

a while ago i talked to a jw lady from my old congregation and i showed her a lot of the errors, organ transplants/bethsarim/dates/ etc, her reply was this: " well i know 2 jw regular pioneer sisters who live in france and if this wasnt the truth they would have left, so therefore it must be the truth"....huh?

in another thread regarding the saturday afternoon convention program, 95stormfront wrote about the wts aid in helping victims of a storm:they again shamelessly plugged how they were oh-so- helpful to victims of allison, the rainstorm that put the city of houston underwater two years ago and how money poured in from witnesses around the world.

what they failed to mention was that all the supplies they used were either donated, or bought at very reduced rates using government grants, stored in donated space, all the labor was provided free by brothers in the building industry.

they also failed to mention that it took anywhere from 6 to 8 months for them to finish the work on individual homes and that after it was finished, you were presented with an invoice detailing all the hardware used with a total of what the retail cost of what those items would've been.

Lost my job cause of the dubs!

these last two weeks have been just plain awful for me... 2 weeks i hope to never have to go through.

firstly my mum disowns me, then i lose my baby and get an infection from the miscarriage.

i go back to work after having 10 days off to find out i have lost my job.

Single and Happy

can people be single and happy?

the older i get the more i believe that being single is the way to go.there are so many advantages.just to name a few;.

you can finish that college degree, go to the neighborhood bar anytime, do charity work, join a night class, stay out all night, flirt with anybody you please.
